Been using this microphone attachment for several months now and have been very impressed with its performance. My line of work is onsite Paramedic services and security. I have tried other companies microphone adapters for the Motorola XPR 3500 and they have poor quality and seem to break easily (internally or externally) and the sound quality is very low with static. What i noticed with Waveband microphones is that it is a hefty unit and feels solid. The size of the hand held mic is a perfect fit when I need to grab it to make a fast transmission as well as the push to talk button seems to be quite solid. The cord has great elasticity so it does not flop around my uniform and stays flush to my body, the microphone it self has seen rain, mud, heat/humidity, and has been dropped several times. Along with the sturdiness of this unit, I've been thrilled to have a microphone that produces great sound clarity through the speaker. It sounds just as clear as the standalone XPR 3500 and with the microphone attached to my upper body, I can keep the volume lower and hear everything just fine. The microphone produces all of the usual audible programmed noises that the XPR 3500 does. Eg. Push to talk, low battery etc. Overall very happy with this unit and I will be making some additional purchases for my co-workers
